When we share information about a party or its
members, many assume we are endorsing that party or
individual. Personally, I support all candidates and
politicians who roll
up their sleeves and serve the people.
I strive to remain non-partisan because I believe
that the most important goal is upholding
democracy and increasing participation. Ignoring
this responsibility has, in fact, put democracy at
risk.
Of course, being truly non-partisan is no easy task.
I follow several principles, which have sometimes
been challenging to uphold and have even led to
conflicts:
1- Accountability for Those in Power
Since democracy requires regular elections, I see
leadership changes as opportunities for new
individuals and parties to implement their programs.
Therefore, I always focus on holding
the governing party accountable.
2- Deciding at the Ballot Box
I make my voting decision at
the last possible moment, standing before the ballot
box. I believe in the transcendental
and have trained my mind to embrace this process.
Beyond the limitations
of pure reasoning, I trust that this
approach allows for a more holistic and thoughtful
decision.
3- Strategic
Voting
While I support all parties, I use my vote in a way
that maximizes its impact. I
vote strategically to influence
outcomes where it matters most.
4- Empowering
Communities
I believe that when communities rally behind their
candidates, they inspire greater participation among
those who might otherwise disengage from elections. Strong
communities create a strong Canada.
